"Ring out the Old; Ring in the New"
Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow;
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
Ring out...
the grief that saps the mind...
false pride...
narrowing lust of gold...
ring out the thousand wars of old...
Ring in...
the common love of truth an right...
the common love of good...
the nobler modes of life...
the thousand years of peace
Ring in the valiant man and free, The large heart, the kindlier hand; Ring out the darkness of the land, Ring in the Christ that is to be.
Lord Alfred Tenneyson so eloquently expresses our thoughts and prayers. May we each find joy and contentment in our lives this 2008 as we live lives worthy of the Savior's words, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant." God bless you all!
