MERRY CHRISTMAS 2007



Dear Friends and Loved Ones,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. We cherish each day while serving full-time as missionaries at the MTC Provo and wish to share our thoughts, experiences and memoirs with each of you. If you only wish an update on each of our children and their families, read this day only. If you wish to be touched by poignant thoughts from speakers and missionaries, read on. May God bless each and every one of you this Christmas season and always.

  • Janie -full time homemaker, cook, chauffeur, Bishop's wife, etc. and Mark Ogletree--full-time Bishop, marriage counselor and Institute Director for CES; Brittany (21) in MTC headed for Spain Barcelona in January; Brandon (20) serving full-time as a missionary in Chile Concepcion; Bethany (18), senior and head cheerleader; McKenzie and Madison (16) hoping to get college sports' scholarships in basketball and volleyball; Cassidy (13) loves junior high and budding teenager-inherited Brittany's cell phone; Callie (9) future President of the U.S. or CEO of Fortune 500; Natalie (6) Kindergartener going on 16! McKinney, TX
  • Christy-full-time mom, chauffeur, singer, soccer mom and YW counselor, and Marty Watkins-President of new start-up financial management company called Associated Financial Services, working primarily in Idaho with Idaho Medical Association; avid bicycler and soccer fan; Sam (14) plays on 2 different soccer and basketball teams; accomplished pianist and scholar par excellence; BYU fan; Jacob (8) is inventive, creative and inquisitive; favorite show is "Myth Busters." South Jordan, Utah
  • Carrie-full-time mom, chauffeur, singer, YW counselor and world traveler, and Blake Smith-Management of a world-wide crane company, awesome father and husband, fellow world traveler, basketball player- living 45 minutes from Venice, Italy, but more recently having lived in Germany for 2 years. Cameron (10) and Sydney (9) are enrolled in an American School on the Air Force Base nearby and enjoying all the amenities of living overseas (not to mention their acquisition of multiple language skills). Caleb (6), first grade is enrolled in a German immersion school and is fast approaching being bi-lingual. and adjusting to the taunting of Italian children. Fratta di Caneva, Italy
  • Matt Cook-entrepreneur; part-owner of Goode Ford; balancing all the above with building a new home, father of five, High Counselor, etc., and Trista-full-time mom, chauffeur, architect, tile layer, and proud cat-owner; Zander (12)- ardent reader, basketball and football player, Scout and kind big brother, BYU fan; Madeleine (10)-beautiful, gifted artist and peacemaker; Hallie (7) scholar, tall second grader and kind big sister; Lauren (4), energetic, fun and loves cherry tomatoes; Isabelle (2), happy, sweet and loves her mommy! Burley, Idaho
  • Jennifer Larsen-full-time Mom, chauffeur, cook, YW counselor, seamstress, and Gordon- Exxon Mobile sales; SS teacher, handyman and busy father of five); Harrison (13)-7th grader, avid reader, budding teenager, LaCrosse player, avid BYU fan; Megan (11) , sixth grader, scholar, equestrian with loads of medals, violinist; Cougar (10), 4th grader, determined and go-getter; Carter (7), second grader, aspiring football player and dentist; Abby (5)- Kindergartner, loves school and friends (Megan is her best friend).
  • Forrest (Chip) Cook graduated from Stanford with Master's Degree in Russian Studies and currently teaching Russian at West Point; Elder's Quorum Pres.; Liz Cook-mother of four, piano teacher, runner, chauffeur, singer; Chase (6)-first grader and budding soccer and basketball player, kind and thoughtful; twin Allyson (6), also first grader and sweet big sister with a beautiful singing voice; Lauren (4) , pre-schooler full if vim and vigor and personality, many think she should be a child model; Hannah (1 1/2), tiny and petite in command of her siblings. West Point, NY
  • David Cook-I.T. director for Wolverine Pipline Company; YM President, avid carpenter and remodeler; talented photographer and father of all daughters; Sarah-full-time mother, chauffeur, church worker, violinist, and pregnant with #4 due early June; Savannah (6) loves first grade and is second in command in classroom, we're told; pianist and singer; Sadie (4) loves her sisters and has the most beautiful blue eyes ever; Christina (1 1/2), contented and sweet baby.   • Joey Cook-General Council for NFC Development Company, a real estate development company in Destin, FL; hymnal arranger, YM Counselor, camper, woodcrafter; Angelique- full-time mother, part-time baby whisperer, marathoner, seamstress, homemaker, and pregnant with #3 due in June; Curtis (4)-wants-to-be Star Wars Jedi apprentice; gymnast; wise beyond his years and insightful; Claire (2) going on 16, inquisitive, always hungry and wishes to run the house! And yes, she's still hungry! Niceville, FL
  • Steve-semi-retired and full-time missionary, but never been busier. He's still acquiring land for the LDS church; loves visiting family members; famous grandpa, especially for his bar-b-que ribs.
  • Lola-retired from teaching school full-time and loves every minute of missionary work; prizes being near children and grandchildren; busier than ever and never lacks for opportunities to serve; loves all the amenities of living in Salt Lake, especially the weather.

  1. Wow! Great job on commenting on everyone in such a small space! Hope all is going well and you guys are staying warm!! Do they keep the roads pretty clear as you drive back and forth to Provo each day? We love you guys and pray for you on your mission! We are so grateful that you are having a wonderful experience.
