How to Be A Better Missionary...
Sunday, February 24, celebrated Sister Allred, First Counselor in the General Relief Society Presidency, visit to the sister missionaries at the MTC. She speech was powerful and moving!! The main points were:
- The world is kept from the truth because they know not where to find it (See D&C 15:6)
- Commit to (see Moses 1:39) bringing Heavenly Father's children to Christ
- Learn your duty (See D&C 11:21)-see to learn 'my word' first. You may never have another opportunity for such learning and growth.
- Seek to have the Spirit (See D&C 8:48)--He is the true teacher; missionaries are merely the instruments; The Spirit opens the window of revelation!!
- Difference between being "converted" (persuaded to come unto Christ by baptism, etc.) and "conversion" which is a lifelong process (being totally committed to righteousness).
- Two most fundamental point of being converted; they are to (1) have faith in Christ) and (2) to repent of our sins.
- The Savior's atonement makes it possible for all men to receive forgiveness of sins.
- When you teach from the scriptures and do your best, the Spirit will take over and teach!
- True conversion involves four things: thoughts, desires habits, and actions!!
- Missionaries greatest responsibility is to find people to teach
- Go the extra mile!! Conversions often come because of that extra effort!!
- If missionaries are WORTHY, OBEDIENT AND DILIGENT, Christ will bless you to be successful!!
What a beautiful Sabbath at the MTC!!
